Urban Growth Boundary and GAIC

GAIC

Legislation under the Planning and Environment Act enabling the Growth Areas Infrastructure Contribution ("GAIC") was passed on 25 May 2010 and proclaimed to come into effect on 8 June 2010. 

Amendment VC68

Amendment VC68 expands Melbourne's Urban Growth Boundary, and puts in place Public Acquisition Overlays for the proposed 15,000 hectare native grasslands reserve, the Regional Rail Link and the Outer Metropolitan Ring / E6 Transport Corridor.  Amendment VC68 was ratified by Parliament on 29 July 2010 and the Notice of Approval of Amendment was published in the Victoria Government Gazette on 6 August 2010.  Amendment VC68 is now in operation, which means that the various amendments have been incorporated into the relevant planning schemes.
