Partner

Dan Minogue graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1979. He began his legal career as an articled clerk at Rennick & Gaynor in 1980 and is now the senior partner of our firm.

Over the last 40 years, Dan has become a leading solicitor in the property and commercial law space. He has worked on a vast range of property matters acting for the State Electricity Commission of Victoria, Frankston City Council, La Trobe City Council, Bass Coast Council and numerous private land owners. In more recent years, Dan has become an expert in the niche field of compulsory land acquisition in Victoria acting for claimants and several councils.  His particular interest lies in business claims for which he is uniquely qualified with his accounting major.

In the last 12 years, Dan and his team have dealt with approximately 400 claims under the Land Acquisition and Compensation Act 1986, the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and the Major Transport Projects Facilitation Act 2009 working on projects such as the Wonthaggi Desalination Pipeline, Level Crossing Removals, Melbourne Metro Rail and most recently North East Link. He has conducted matters in Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, Magistrates Court and Supreme Court.

Dan is of the view that our firm is in the business of service, an adage by which he practices.  He is committed to the best outcome for his clients but recognises that the commerciality of any issue must also be assessed.  He values his client relationships, many of whom have sought advice from him for several decades.
