Law Traineeships

Rennick and Gaynor Solicitors have a proud history of being able to offer a varied traineeship to ensure its 1st year solicitors are able to work independently and confidently.  As a firm we usually recruit at least 1 to 2 trainees each year.  Intake occurs at the beginning and middle of the year. 

The philosophy of the firm is that a trainee is:

  1. supported in their role so that they can effectively transfer their learning into day to day practical legal outcomes for clients;
  2. exposed to a variety of legal matters to ensure that their practical experience is broad and adaptive to the new legal environment facings solicitors in the 21st century.
  3. able to make a meaningful contribution to the firm's clients by the end of their traineeship period.

Law Students

If you are studying and would like to commence your career in law you may wish to consider a part-time position with Rennick and Gaynor Solicitors.  Currently the firm takes on 2 to 3 part-time students each year.  These positions do not become vacant very often but if you are interested you may wish to complete the attached employment form.

What do we offer a student?  The types of tasks that are completed by a student are dependant on how many years of study that they have completed but may include some of the following:

  1. General office tasks such as reception, photocopying, stationery management and collation of documents;
  2. Research projects as requested by solicitors;
  3. Compilation of briefs for court or briefing counsel; or
  4. Library management.

The philosophy behind these positions is to enable students to be exposed to a law firm and to have an understanding of what underpins a successful practice.

Support or Specialist Staff
