Nancy was admitted to practice in 2002 and joined Rennick & Gaynor as a partner in February 2024 after spending 3 years with the Department of Transport and Planning.
She has significant experience with dispute resolution including litigation with a particular specialization in land acquisition matters involving compensation payable under the Land Acquisition and Compensation Act 1986 and the Planning and Environment Act 1987.
By applying her legal skills developed over 20+ years and technical expertise, Nancy has successfully negotiated compensation on behalf of hundreds of landowners impacted by projects such as the Mulitnet Gas pipeline, Ballarat Superpipe, North-South pipeline, Desalination pipeline, Melbourne Metro Tunnel project and various road duplication projects. Nancy has also represented acquiring authorities (including water and transport authorities) to support delivery of infrastructure projects involving land acquisitions and compensation issues. Having acted for both sides, she has a clear understanding of competing priorities and interests from both perspectives.
Nancy prides herself on achieving the best possible outcome for those impacted by public infrastructure projects and considers it is always in the best interest of both parties to work together with an end goal of a negotiated outcome. Where a negotiated outcome is not achievable, Nancy’s strong litigation experience will benefit her clients to ensure they obtain the right outcome in either the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal or the Supreme Court of Victoria.
